Position Overview We are seeking a motivated individual to join our manufacturing team as an Entry-Level Tool and Die Maker to craft dies and metal tools for our manufacturing facility. In this role, you will progress to interpret design schematics, cut and shape dies, and assemble the completed parts. You will also test the performance of the completed product. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and eager to learn advanced machining techniques. Essential Job Functions Build draw, transfer, and progressive dies for the metal stamping industry Set up and operate machines such as drills, lathes, grinders, and milling machines. Build welding, inspection, and assembly fixtures per design Ability to read prints and complicated schematics in order to manufacture new tooling fixtures and machine parts. Assist with die maintenance. Responsible for performing test runs on all tools to ensure they function properly and that the finished parts are to meet print specifications Must be able to analyze 3D designs and models to be manufactured. Visualizing and computing metal shapes and tolerances. Designing jigs and templates as work aids in the fabrication of parts. Measuring and marking metal stock for machining. Cutting and shaping blocks to specified dimensions. Filling, grinding, and shimming metals to ensure a smooth finish. Fitting and assembling tools and die parts. Inspecting finished dies and tools for defects, smoothness, and contour deformities. Look for and make suggestions on areas to improve efficiencies within the company Occasionally assist with press set-up, or other tooling support as needed Other duties as assigned by Supervisors or Managers Basic Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Ideal for recent graduates or individuals nearing completion of their vocation or technical program. Basic knowledge of machining processes and metalworking. Ability to read and understand blueprints and technical drawings. Familiarity with precision measuring instruments. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience in a manufacturing setting or apprenticeship is a plus. Physical Demands Ability to lift up to 40 LBS, lift twist, grab, stand (up to 8 to 10 hours), walk, push, pull, use both hands to lift and lower materials, and perform all other essential duties with or without reasonable accommodations.
