We provide mostly residential services to our clients throughout Rhode Island. We are searching for full time Lawn Care Apprentice to work from March 15 - Dec 15, understanding of how to operate a spreader, identify weeds & insects, safely use pesticides. This job is physical labor position and may require you to work hard at times and/or require you to work outside in all weather conditions including rain, cold, or heat. Work Hours: M-Fr, 7:15am to 6pm* *During busy times of the year and depending on the weather, it may be necessary to work outside of these hours, including Saturdays. Responsibilities and Duties: Show up on time everyday prepared to work outdoors all day in any condition. Complete all assigned work when scheduled, within budget, and to customer's satisfaction. Complete assigned service concerns when scheduled. Communicate with, coordinate with, and manage assigned Landscape Laborer(s). Clock self in/out daily & accurately. Attend weekly crew meetings. Keep trailer/equipment clean and organized. Put out door hangers when requested. Proactively notify mechanic/production manager of equipment needing repairs. Follow and abide by state laws and rules governing pesticide applications. Qualifications and Skills: Strong organizational skills. Positive attitude. Willingness to learn & adapt. Extremely reliable. Attention to detail. So much so that they will include "I pay attention to detail" at the bottom of their resume. Effective time management, ability to prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines. Ability to problem solve without asking questions. Ability to follow directions. Must have own reliable transportation. Valid driver's license & clean driving record. Clean background check. Live local to the area. Knowledge of local pruning techniques. Ability to correctly identify common perennial flowers, shrubs, trees, and weeds. Knowledge of and the ability to operate power equipment such as hedge trimmers, aerators, seeders, spreaders, weed whackers, and various other pieces of landscape equipment Required experience: Familiarity with lawn care and fertilization: 1 year Required license or certification: Drivers License A pesticide license is NOT required to start, but it is a plus if you have one. Future licensing is a MUST.
